Key takeaway
Specific, structured prompts with real content produce far better output than vague creative requests.
Getting strong output from an AI coding tool is a skill, and the biggest lever you control is prompt specificity. A vague prompt ("build me a nice website for a plumbing company") produces generic, templated output. A specific prompt — real business details, the structural plan from the previous lesson, a described visual direction, and real copy or at least real talking points rather than lorem ipsum — produces output that already looks purpose-built.
Effective prompting for this kind of work tends to work best section by section rather than asking for an entire finished site in one shot: describe and refine the hero section, then move to the next section, reviewing and adjusting as you go. This gives you more control over quality and lets you catch and correct problems early rather than after an entire page has been generated around a flawed foundation.
Always feed the tool real information: the business's actual name, services, location, tone (is this a high-end, premium brand or a friendly, approachable one?), and any specific details from your research. The more real, specific context you provide, the less the output will read as an obviously AI-generated template — which is exactly the gap between work you can charge a premium for and work that looks like everyone else's.
